Dacasto Gran Pasticceria (Artisanal Food Manufacturing)
Dacasto Gran Pasticceria was launched by internationally trained entrepreneurs, Enrico Dacasto and Laura Ramello, a husband-and-wife duo with extensive experience in the food sector. Enrico and Laura have collectively invested $1.7 million CAD in the company through family assets.
Through Brampton Next, the founders received support to improve their business communication skills, refine their business plan for the Canadian market, and understand regulatory requirements for food production. At the same time, settlement advisors assisted the family with housing searches, language training, school registrations, and navigation of local services. This combination of business and settlement support enabled the founders to establish their artisanal bakery operation and begin serving a growing customer base across the region.
Oxana Technologies (Carbon Credits Tracking Platform)
Oxana Technologies was founded by Frederick Elum to build a blockchain-enabled platform that tokenizes carbon credits, tracks emissions, and facilitates the trading of renewable energy. Oxana received one-on-one in-house mentoring and was connected with mentors for financial planning, fundraising, and strategic growth.
As part of the program, Oxana was selected to exhibit at the 2025 Brampton Venture Expo, gaining visibility, market feedback, and traction within the innovation ecosystem. This comprehensive support helped Oxana secure its first international client and a major partnership (IBM, Puro.Earth, Foresight Canada), positioning the venture for global scale and a projected $7.5M in ARR starting in 2026. Frederick is also working to launch a second venture in Brampton, further contributing to local innovation.
SilkNest (Detachable Silk Liner that Fits into Hats and Caps)
SilkNest was founded by Chhavi Dikholkar, a McMaster University student who came to Brampton Next with just an idea. Through the program, she incorporated her company in Brampton, validated her concept, and received tailored mentorship on market research, product development, and IP protection. Guided to work with local tailors and avoid high-risk vendors, she sourced materials, built her prototype, and consulted legal mentors.
By the end of the program, Chhavi developed an MVP and is now ready to gather real-world market feedback. While working on her venture, Chhavi Dikholkar also received settlement support through language training focused on pitching and business communication, as well as employment preparation.
AIshar (Applying AI for Optimization)
Manmeet Singh, an AI expert with 15+ years of experience at companies like Adobe and Apple, relocated to Canada after a decade in Silicon Valley. Through Brampton Next, he received support to incorporate his business in Brampton and guidance in transitioning from a technical founder to a confident entrepreneur.
The program helped him define customer personas, shape his go-to-market strategy, and position his AI services for both private clients and public sector opportunities. He was introduced to the local innovation ecosystem, learned how to navigate public procurement, and was matched with seasoned external mentors, including experts in financial planning and serial entrepreneurs with successful exits. He grew his revenue from $60,000 to $500,000 in secured contracts over the 14-week program, marking a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey and setting the stage to build further from there.
