From Factory Floors to Future-Ready Printing: Jyoti’s Journey with Brampton NEXT

Jyoti’s path to launching Chromatic Solutions didn’t begin with a pitch deck. It started on the floor of a pharmaceutical factory in a small town in India, where she applied engineering skills to solve real-world problems. From there, her career took her across continents and industries — through China, global supply chains, and corporate leadership roles — before landing in Canada with a new goal: to build something of her own.

Seeing the Gap — and Building to Fill It

Across her global career, Jyoti kept seeing the same pattern. Industries like textiles and packaging were under pressure to move faster, offer more customization, and still meet sustainability goals. And when she arrived in Ontario, she found the same challenges, only with fewer accessible, flexible solutions to address them.

“Many small to mid-sized manufacturers in Canada are struggling to adapt due to limited access to scalable, integrated digital printing technologies,” she explains.

After spending nearly a year studying the local market, Jyoti saw a clear opportunity to begin her founder journey: bring advanced digital printing hardware together with deep global supply chain know-how. That combination would become the foundation for Chromatic Solutions.

Today, her company works with industrial printing OEMs to deliver high-speed carton printers, direct-to-fabric and garment printing systems, and technical training helping clients adopt the right tools and move forward with confidence.

Starting her Founder Journey from Scratch, with Strategy

Even with 25 years of international experience, Jyoti didn’t expect credibility to come easy. Establishing herself in a new country, industry, and market meant proving the company’s value, one client at a time.

“My market research helped,” she says, “but real insights came only after engaging directly with potential clients and partners.”

She knew she had to build a strong foundation early. That meant crafting a clear brand message, building a trusted online presence, and attending trade shows and networking events to create visibility. Partnering with industry leaders like AURA Designs helped add depth to the brand’s offering. But the real differentiator was Jyoti’s depth of experience and her commitment to understanding what Canadian manufacturers actually needed.

Adapting to a New Ecosystem

Moving to Canada was like a full reset. Jyoti had to learn a new regulatory landscape, a different business culture, and local buyer behaviours that didn’t always mirror what she was used to overseas.

“Even with global experience, it has required patience, persistence, and a willingness to learn quickly,” she says.

What helped most was getting out into the community. She joined local industry groups, showed up at events, and started building her network from the ground up. It was through one of those local business circles that she first heard about the Brampton NEXT program.

I decided to join because I recognized the value it would bring in helping me navigate the challenges of establishing and growing Chromatic Solutions in a new market,” she says. “The mentorship, access to industry experts, and connection to a supportive business community aligned perfectly with my goals to expand and innovate within the Canadian printing industry.”

She credits the program for giving her tailored advice, valuable insight into local market dynamics, and a network of peers and professionals who understand the challenges of building something new in Canada. Reflecting on a session with mentor Karen Wong, she says “I got a lot of information from her and then later I connected with her to understand [her] business model”. Beyond the group sessions, Jyoti strengthened her network through one-on-one mentorship and gained valuable access to executive networks through the C-suite leaders at BHive.

Jyoti also found something just as valuable as mentorship: a community of fellow entrepreneurs she could turn to for support. Through program sessions and informal conversations with other founders in the cohort, she connected with Aman Chauhan, co-founder of Quotiva. That connection proved especially helpful when Aman introduced her to an inspector who later supported her through Chromatic Solutions’ certification process.

So while Brampton NEXT offers expert-led sessions and mentorship, it’s also building a network. For Jyoti, that sense of community combined with strategic guidance and cultural insight became a powerful catalyst for Chromatic Solutions’ early growth.

Success in Resilience

Reflecting on her journey so far, Jyoti points to a few qualities that have helped her most: resilience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to learning.

My advice for fellow entrepreneurs is to stay patient and persistent. Building a successful company takes time, and challenges are inevitable. It’s important to remain focused on your vision while being flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances.

Also, invest in building strong relationships, with mentors, industry peers, clients, and your team. These connections provide invaluable support, knowledge, and opportunities.

Never stop learning and seeking feedback. The market evolves quickly, so staying informed and open to new ideas will keep your business competitive.

Finally, maintain your integrity and passion, these values not only motivate you but also attract trust and loyalty from customers and partners.”
